Lio Rush Says WWE Had No Plans To Book Bobby Lashley Vs. Brock Lesnar

It could still happen in the future though...

Bobby Lashley has reiterated numerous times that one of the reasons he re-signed with WWE back in 2018 is because he wants to go one on one with Brock Lesnar. WWE teased going in that direction in the build-up to SummerSlam 2018, when The Beast Incarnate was Universal Champion, but the company decided to have Lesnar face Roman Reigns instead.

Lashley has had numerous rivalries since then against the likes of Finn Balor and Rusev but the feud with Lesnar still alludes him. The All Mighty's former Hype Man Lio Rush recently sat down for an interview with Kenny McIntosh at Inside The Ropes and explained he and Lashley pitched the rivalry to WWE but the company never had any plans to book the match.

The Man Of The Hour said: "It was in me and Bobby’s plans but I don’t think it was in the company’s plans. It was just we always brought it up, we always tried to pitch it. It felt right. Bobby was pretty open about, you know, he came back to WWE because he wanted to wrestle Brock. So, I thought it was inevitable."
