Lucha Bros Claiming They've Already Had Talks With WWE

WWE may already be in talks with the Lucha Bros

Although they remain under contract with All Elite Wrestling, for the time being anyway, the Lucha Bros are claiming they have already held talks with WWE.

Fightful Select has reported that numerous sources close to Rey Fenix and Penta El Zero Miedo have said the Lucha Bros have been "pretty open in claiming that they've had WWE talks already and that there is a preliminary offer on the table similar to that of what AEW was offering." WWE sources, however, would not comment on the matter.

If this is the case, it could be just the latest example of contract tampering between WWE and AEW. WWE allegedly approached several AEW talents in the Summer of 2022 about jumping ship, including reportedly Swerve Strickland and William Regal. AEW legal's team is believed to have directly contacted WWE with a cease and desist letter.

Fightful also noted that Rey Fenix's deal expires around September and Penta's deal is the first to expire. AEW wanted to re-sign the former AEW World Tag Team Champions but Penta and Fenix kept delaying and it became evident in recent weeks the Lucha Bros weren't looking to re-up with the promotion.

The belief is the Lucha Bros want to be a package deal if they sign with WWE, which is the expectation, and they don't want to be placed on NXT.
