Next Challenger For The ROH World Title Revealed

Claudio Castagnoli will defend the ROH World Championship next week, with his next challenger being revealed during Wednesday night's taping of Rampage. 

On the show, Castagnoli made his way to the ring with ROH Pure Champion Wheeler Yuta and Claudio told the fans it was great to be ROH World Champion, especially in front of Ricky 'The Dragon' Steamboat, who helped train him. Castagnoli then announced he would be more comfortable defending his title and he issued an open challenge for next week.

That open challenge was then answered by Dustin Rhodes, and the two competitors will square off for the ROH World Championship. Despite his long career, next week will be Rhodes' first foray into Ring Of Honor. His father Dusty Rhodes had one match in ROH, while his brother Cody Rhodes is a former ROH World Champion. 

Castagnoli has been ROH World Champion for 26 days since he defeated Jonathan Gresham for the gold at July's Death Before Dishonor pay-per-view. He has defended the title once so far, defeating Konosuke Takeshita at Battle Of The Belts III.
