Nick Aldis Doesn't Rule Out Third Match With Cody Rhodes

Nick Aldis on another match with Cody Rhodes

Nick Aldis and Cody Rhodes' careers are forever entwined following their match for the NWA Worlds Heavyweight Championship at All In, an event which has become one of the most important in pro wrestling history as the precursor to AEW.

Cody would emerge victorious on that occasion, winning the title his father once held, before Aldis regained the worlds heavyweight championship at NWA 70 in a Two-out-of-Three Falls Match.

Some have clamoured for Aldis and Cody to face off in a rubber match to complete a trilogy and The National Treasure didn't rule out facing Rhodes one more time while speaking to Sportskeeda.

"I don't know. I mean, there's always a chance. Obviously, something pretty significant would have to happen for that to be a possibility currently. I loved that angle. That to me is the most enjoyable stretch in my career. It felt like it really had this old-school feel to it. Not because of what we did because I thought what we did was pretty cutting edge, the way we did it. A lot of it was pretty innovative. But there wasn't this plan. There wasn't a creative team, there wasn't a multi-million-dollar marketing machine behind it. It was he and I. Like where should we go next? What about this? Yeah, now let's do this. This will keep it going. It was all very organic," Aldis said.

Rhodes is now in WWE and Aldis is set to be a free agent in the new year following the expiry of his NWA contract. If WWE are interested in signing The National Treasure is unknown but Teddy Long has tipped Aldis to defeat Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Title before a Rhodes return
