NWA's Mickie James Talks Cross Brand Co-Operation With EmPowerrr

Stars from AEW and IMPACT Wrestling featured at NWA’s first all-women PPV

This past weekend’s NWA EmPowerrr show has been widely heralded a success, with NWA’s first ever all-women PPV earning critical plaudits from fans and wrestlers alike.

EmPowerrr producer Mickie James has since gone on to talk how ‘crossing the forbidden door’ and working with the likes of AEW and IMPACT Wrestling panned out, telling Bell To Belles

“I would say they’re pretty receptive. I mean obviously nothing is ever easy when you’re doing business. I would say that they were both very receptive. I think that everyone recognises that no one, right now is doing a single show for their women so for everybody to be able to come together and I think everyone got the energy and the purpose and as the energy around it started to build, I feel like a lot of people didn’t wanna miss out on the opportunity to be a part of history because it was gonna be amazing and it was, it truly was and I was grateful. I was grateful to have AEW represented. I was grateful to be able to go to IMPACT and do all — from coming out on Slammiversary, to be able to showcase this match between Deonna [Purrazzo] and Melina, who Melina is so special to me in the history that we have and made together but then, to have Melina show up on IMPACT when she had never been in an IMPACT ring ever before that moment. It was just good stuff all around and it just - it just kept building and building and building and I mean, Kamille and Leyla Hirsch, killed it. What a great match.”
