Report: Backstage News On Scorpio Sky's TNT Title Win

Scorpio Sky won the TNT Title on the March 9 Dynamite

Scorpio Sky is your new AEW TNT Champion, winning the title on his third attempt when he defeated Sammy Guevara for the gold on the March 9 edition of Dynamite.

The title win makes Sky the third wrestler in AEW history to have held two different championships in the company, and according to a report from Fightful Select, Sky’s title win had been pencilled in since late 2021.

The report states that the plans all along were for Miro to drop the title to Sammy Guevara, who would lose the belt to Cody Rhodes, regain it, then do the honours for Sky. The Cody saga delayed plans by a week, with Rhodes unable to compete at the inaugural Battle of the Belts special on January 8.

News of AEW planning their champions far in advance should come as no surprise, after Tony Khan revealed in late 2021 that he always knew who his first four AEW World Champions were going to be, and that he never deviated from his plans for the belt.
