Report: Former NWA Talent Signs With WWE

A former NWA talent could be heading to NXT very soon...

A former NWA star and current free agent has signed with WWE, according to a new report.

Bodyslam.net recently revealed that Colby Corino has officially signed with WWE. The site had previously reported that Corino would be finishing up with the NWA at the end of last year and would be travelling to Orlando, Florida in order to partake in a WWE tryout in January.

The site noted that Colby is due to report to NXT 'very soon' and could be heading there as early as the beginning of March. It added that his tryout took place at the end of January and that he was brought in individually, rather than as part of an incoming class of recruits.

The 26-year-old debuted in 2009 and has wrestled for various independent promotions throughout the years, including Ring of Honor. He is the son of former ECW Heavyweight Champion and current NXT trainer and producer Steve Corino.

Colby Corino made a couple of appearances for WWE in 2020, losing to Erik of the Viking Raiders as part of the short-lived Raw Underground, as well as Mansoor on an episode of 205 Live.
