Report: IMPACT Wrestling Set To Make 'Major International Announcement'

Big news looks to be on the horizon for IMPACT Wrestling.

Mike Johnson of PWInsider has reported that IMPACT Wrestling will make a "major international announcement" on Thursday. The nature of the announcement is currently unclear, however. 

IMPACT Wrestling have teased a return to the United Kingdom in recent months, with IMPACT President Scott D'Amore stating during the pre-Slammiversary media call that IMPACT had exciting news on the horizon for the European market. D'Amore also mentioned in late 2022 that IMPACT would be coming back to the UK in 2023. 

IMPACT Wrestling have a long history in the UK and the promotion's record attendance came in January 2009 when they held a house show at London's Wembley Arena. The show had over 8,000 fans in attendance and was main evented by Jeff Jarrett vs. Kurt Angle. IMPACT have not held a show in the UK for several years, however. 

There had been a dearth of major pro wrestling events in the UK in recent years but that changed in 2022 when WWE held their first pay-per-view across the pond for 19 years with Clash at the Castle. The company have since held Money in the Bank in London and AEW will debut in the UK later this year with All In from Wembley Stadium on August 27.
