Report: Reason Jon Moxley Vs. Kenny Omega Is On AEW: Dynamite Revealed

Not on pay-per-view...

The next AEW World Title match was set at Full Gear as Kenny Omega vanquished "Hangman" Adam Page to win the AEW World Title Eliminator Tournament and Jon Moxley forced Eddie Kingston to quit in the main event.

Many expected All Elite Wrestling to book the match for Revolution on February 27, 2021, but Excalibur revealed on last night's Dynamite that The Best Bout Machine will receive his title shot on December 2.

Dave Meltzer reported on Wrestling Observer Radio that Tony Khan wanted something "real big" to start AEW's December and January TV run. Khan previously announced the young promotion will be holding a special edition of Dynamite named Beach Break in January.

Meltzer said: "I actually checked with Tony Khan. Not checked, but he just wants to do it on television… He wanted something real big to kick off December and January. I guess he's got a lot of ideas for December and January."

The match will be Omega and Moxley's first sanctioned match. The Cleaner and The Purveyor Of Violence previously went one on one at Full Gear 2019 in a Lights Out Match. Moxley emerged victorious on that occasion and AEW was later fined $10,000 by the Maryland Athletic Commission.
