Report: Update On AJ Styles Amidst WWE Absence

The Phenomenal One has been on the shelf since December

WWE star AJ Styles has been out of action since suffering a broken ankle during a six-person mixed tag team match at a December 29, 2022 live event.

There have been few updates since the Phenomenal One himself tweeted that he would need a long time to recover from the injury (but that surgery wouldn't be required).

A new report from PWInsider Elite has shed some light on AJ's current status, noting that the former WWE Champion was 'not around' during WrestleMania weekend and that he is still recovering and 'getting ready' to perform.

The report added that Styles hasn't been seen working at the WWE Performance Center, nor has he been on the road for the company in any other capacity.

Despite his inactivity, the 45-year-old's likeness was included in a graphic for the upcoming WWE Draft. AJ's running buddies Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson were also featured in the graphic.

Styles reportedly signed a multi-year 'big money' deal in January 2022. Prior to his injury, AJ held talks with WWE management about making an appearance at New Japan's Wrestle Kingdom 17.
