Report: Update On Bryan Danielson Ahead Of AEW X NJPW Forbidden Door

Will Bryan Danielson make Forbidden Door?

A teased match for AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door on Sunday, June 26, is still uncertain.

Zack Sabre Jr. recently challenged Bryan Danielson to a match at the pay-per-view to prove who the best technical wrestler in the world is, with both men having dominated the Bryan Danielson/Best Technical Wrestler Award in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter since 2004.

The American Dragon has not responded to the challenge and Dave Meltzer reported on Wrestling Observer Radio that Danielson had not been cleared to compete as of Wednesday, June 15.

"He was not cleared on Wednesday of last week. He's either going to be on the show this coming Wednesday or I would go and say it's unlikely they'll have the match," Meltzer said.

Danielson has not appeared on any AEW programming since he performed in the Anarchy In The Arena Match at Double Or Nothing on May 29, with reports noting the former ROH World Champion is dealing with an injury.

Several matches have already been booked for Forbidden Door, including an Interim AEW World Title bout between Jon Moxley and Hiroshi Tanahashi.
