Report: Update On William Regal's New WWE Responsibilities
Reported update on William Regal’s new WWE role
William Regal is officially under the WWE umbrella, with Regal reportedly instated as the Vice President of Global Talent Development.
Whilst it was assumed that Regal’s responsibilities would be similar to his former role in the company before his 2022 release - Director of Talent Development and Head of Global Recruiting - a new report from PWInsider suggests that Regal will be required to be backstage at all WWE Raw and SmackDown tapings going forward.
The report reveals that Regal has been backstage at TV since rejoining the company - further to earlier reports - but was not at the January 10 NXT tapings in Orlando.
Regal’s recent WWE return comes hot on the heels of his well received run in AEW as the head of the Blackpool Combat Club, with Regal returning to WWE shortly after Triple H was installed as Chief Content Officer for the company.
The news came as little shock to many, with Regal and Triple H having enjoyed a close working relationship for many years, from their time as talent across WCW and WWE, through to their time behind the scenes during WWE NXT’s ‘Black & Gold’ era.
