Report: WWE Unhappy With Hardy Royal Rumble Performance

WWE are said to have "scoffed" at Hardy's Royal Rumble segment.

Figures within WWE were not impressed with the performance of Hardy at the Royal Rumble, according to a report by Fightful Select. The country musician performed Sold Out at the event, the segment occurring in between the Women's Royal Rumble match and the main event between Roman Reigns and Kevin Owens.

Fightful's report states: "The Hardy performance was largely scoffed at by those we spoke to in the company."

Hardy - full name Michael Wilson Hardy - also narrated the show's opening video package, the theme of which was the struggle for success. Hardy's quotes from the vignette include, "I know what it's like to want to make a name for yourself, to be on the road grinding." And "Success don't come easy; you've got to fight for it."

Elsewhere at the event, the Royal Rumble matches were won by Cody Rhodes and Rhea Ripley, while the show closed on a dramatic angle in which Sami Zayn finally turned on Roman Reigns (following Reigns' successful Undisputed WWE Universal title defence against Kevin Owens.)
