Swerve Strickland's New Deal One Of The Biggest Contracts In AEW History

New AEW deal for Swerve Strickland one of the biggest in company history

Despite losing the AEW World Championship at All In, Swerve Strickland still managed to celebrate after signing a new deal with All Elite Wrestling.

The contract announcement was made during the All In Zero Hour pre-show, and a follow-up report from Fightful Select has unveiled some more details as to the terms of Strickland’s new deal.

Swerve’s prior deal - signed in 2022 - was set to run until March 2025, but due to his meteoric rise up the card Strickland had outgrown the terms of the deal. AEW also wanted to tie Swerve down, and prioritised a new deal for the then champ.

As for the deal itself, Swerve is believed to have signed a multi-year deal that will keep him ‘All Elite’ until ‘at least’ 2028, although the specifics of the contract length have not been made public. The monetary value of the deal also hasn’t been made public, but a source in AEW revealed it is ‘considered one of the biggest deals in the company’s history.’

Strickland’s singles rise throughout the latter part of 2023 and AEW World Title win at Dynasty 2024 have solidified him as a bonafide main eventer, and it is expected that Swerve will remain around the top of the card throughout his run in AEW.
