The Rock's Daughter Makes NXT Live Event Debut

Simone Johnson addressed the crowd at a recent NXT event

Simone Johnson - daughter of The Rock - made her official NXT debut at recent live event in Florida.

Now going by the name ‘Ava Raine’, Raine was said to have been scouting members of NXT’s women’s roster, and cut a promo chastising the division, before referring to herself as ‘The Final Girl’, a moniker that Raine has also used on social media.

After news of her debut circulated on Twitter, Raine quote-tweeted an image of herself in the ring, and simply wrote “hi” with a vampire emoji.

The nickname ‘The Final Girl’ suggests that Raine may adopt a Hollywood/horror cinema gimmick, as ‘the final girl’ is a phrase associated with horror movies, and the trope of one strong female being the only survivor of a movie.

The first ever fourth generation star in WWE history, Raine was signed to WWE developmental in 2020 and has suffered several injury setbacks on her road to NXT. She follows in the footsteps of her father The Rock, grandfather ‘Soul Man’ Rocky Johnson, and great-grandfather ‘The High Chief’ Peter Maivia.
