Tony Khan Hopes Kenny Omega Remains With AEW For A Long Time

AEW President Tony Khan wants to retain Kenny Omega’s services

Despite being one of the founding EVPs of All Elite Wrestling, rumours have circulated suggesting that Kenny Omega could be open to exiting the promotion when his contract expires.

Omega’s contract was initially believed to be up in early 2023 but time was reportedly added on due to his injury-related absences for most of 2022. This hasn’t stopped rumours of a potential approach from WWE.

During the post-show media scrum following AEW Revolution 2023, AEW President Tony Khan was asked of Omega’s contract situation, saying the following:

“I think Kenny Omega’s one of the best wrestlers in AEW history,” Khan said. “He’s one of the most decorated wrestlers. To have somebody who’s been World Trios Champion and had a great match defending that title tonight, World Tag Team Champion, and the World Champion, he’s done everything you can do as a world champion in this company. Also, [he is] the IWGP US Champion. This year alone, he’s had some of the best matches in the world. I thought it was an excellent match on the pay-per-view tonight. He started the year with a great match in Tokyo versus Will Ospreay at Wrestle Kingdom, and Kenny Omega can do anything he sets his mind to. He’s one of the best stars in the world, and I hope he’s here for a very long time.”
