Tony Khan Says Re-Signing MJF Is A Priority For AEW

AEW want to keep MJF

While MJF signed a new deal with All Elite Wrestling earlier this year, Friedman has consistently claimed that he didn't extend his contract with the promotion when putting pen to paper.

If he is to be believed, Friedman's AEW deal still expires at the beginning of 2024 and Tony Khan told TODAY.com in a feature on MJF that it is a priority of his and All Elite Wrestling's to sign the AEW World Champion to a new contract.

"It's certainly something he knows is a priority for AEW and me personally," Khan said.

If AEW will be able to sign MJF to a new deal ultimately remains to be seen. Friedman has hinted at signing with WWE when his contract expires both on-screen and off-screen, noting that he will join the highest bidder in 2024.

Friedman has been one of AEW's top stars since the promotion's founding in January 2019 and he is the current AEW World Champion, having defeated Jon Moxley for the gold at Full Gear on November 19.
