Update Provided On Jacob Fatu's Injury Status
WWE has given an update on Jacob Fatu
There were worrying signs in the main event of the SummerSlam 2024 premium live event when Jacob Fatu grabbed at his leg following an announce table Frog Splash dished out onto Cody Rhodes, with many believing him to be legitimately injured. Fatu seemed in pain and did not put weight on his leg, being helped out of the arena by officials. In the aftermath, Fatu was shown wearing a boot in a backstage picture, hinting that his injury was real. It was reported after the show by Fightful Select & Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Fatu selling his leg was the plan, putting into question how severe the supposed injury was.
On last night’s WWE SmackDown, Fatu’s injury was acknowledged, with Cody Rhodes claiming Fatu to be out hurt, which was followed up by Corey Graves on commentary noting that Fatu was out of action with an injury.
Fatu recently won the WWE Tag Team Championships alongside Tama Tonga, but in his absence from Friday Night SmackDown last night, it was Tonga Loa who instead held the title. It is still not entirely clear though if Fatu’s injury is real, completely false, or being exaggerated.
