Why Jon Moxley Is Off AEW TV

Reason behind Jon Moxley’s AEW TV absence revealed

Jon Moxley has been conspicuous by his absence recently, with the Blackpool Combat Club member having been missing from All Elite Wrestling TV.

Moxley last wrestled at Forbidden Door on June 30, where he lost the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship to Tetsuya Naito. According to Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Mox has been absent from all facets of AEW TV, with Moxley having been given some long overdue time off.

The multi-time AEW World Champion was originally set to take time off after All Out 2022, but the suspensions of CM Punk, Kenny Omega, and The Young Bucks after the events of ‘brawl out’ saw Mox cancel his six-week vacation in order to carry the main event scene.

Arguably AEW’s workhorse, Moxley’s 2024 has seen him splitting his time between AEW and New Japan Pro-Wrestling, amongst other promotions.

There’s no word on when Moxley will be returning to AEW TV, but with All In coming up on August 25 it would make sense for AEW to want one of their biggest stars on their biggest show of the year.
