WWE NXT Talent Undergoes Name Change Ahead Of Debut

Name change ahead of WWE debut revealed

A WWE NXT talent has undergone a name change ahead of their TV debut.

WWE filed to trademark 'Kali Armstrong' and 'Niko Vance' with the United States Patent and Trademark Office on Tuesday, September 10 with both names to be used in pro wrestling. Destinee Brown has since revealed on social media that she will be Kali Armstrong on WWE TV, with her debut match set to air on NXT Level Up on Friday, September 20.

"ALLOW ME TO REINTRODUCE MYSLEF! My name is Kali Armstrong! WWE Superstar! My debut match on LevelUp will air next Friday, September 20th on Peacock at 10pm EST/ 7pm PST! Whose ready to take this journey with me!" Armstrong tweeted.

Destinee Brown signed with WWE in October 2023 after participating in the company's SummerSlam tryouts earlier that year. Brown is a former track and field athlete at USC and she was a member of Team USA.

Kali Armstrong's debut match was taped on Tuesday night as she sustained a loss to Brinley Reece. Other matches taped for NXT Level Up included Kendall Grey vs. Tyra Mae Steel, Luca Crusifino vs. Niko Vance, and Mark Coffey vs. Shiloh Hill.

Following Level Up, WWE aired a live episode of NXT from the WWE Performance Center. The NXT Tag Team Title match had to be changed ahead of the show, however.
