WWE To Introduce New Women's Championship

A new title is coming to WWE's women's division

WWE are introducing a brand-new women's championship… but it isn’t one many were hoping for. Although there have been some rumours in recent months of WWE introducing midcard women’s versions of the United States and Intercontinental Championships, the next new title introduced for WWE will be the “WWE Speed Women’s Championship”.

On X, Triple H made the announcement that WWE were bringing the women’s division to the X-exclusive Speed show, and that a tournament would be held to crown a brand new and first-ever WWE Speed Women’s Champion. The tournament is slated to start on September 4 next month, though matches will likely be taped in the coming month leading up to that date.

“Time to turn #WWESpeed up another notch… excited to announce that the WWE Speed Women’s Championship Tournament will premiere Sept. 4 at 12pm ET / 9am PT, exclusively on @X.”

WWE Speed has been around since April, showcasing three-minute time limit matches which air exclusively on the X platform. In the men’s division, Ricochet was the first ever Speed Champion, but was defeated by Andrade, who is the current titleholder.
