AEW Reveals First Half Of TNT Championship Tournament Bracket

AEW have revealed the first half of the bracket for the TNT Championship Tournament - four wrestlers who are set to face off in a pair of singles matches.

Interestingly, the two bouts are both rematches from AEW pay per views. Cody will face Shawn Spears - whom he defeated at All Out last summer - and Darby Allin will go up against Inner Circle member Sammy Guevara. The young stars did battle at AEW's last pay per view, Revolution, in February, with Allin coming out on top.

The remaining competitors in the tournament are set to be revealed on this week's AEW Dynamite, and the competition itself will begin the week after. 

The winner of the tournament will become the inaugural AEW TNT Champion, with the promotion having just announced the new championship a few days ago. It is AEW's fourth title, alongside the World Championship, Women's Championship, and Tag Team Championship. It is expected to fill the traditional role of a TV title in wrestling, a secondary title in the men's division that is primarily defended on television.
