AEW Star Wins AAA Tag Team Titles

A new title for this AEW talent

An All Elite Wrestling star has secured a championship in AAA.

The Mexican promotion held their latest set of tapings on Saturday, May 20 at Morelia, Michoacan, Mexico and a Triple-Threat Tag Team Match was held to crown new AAA World Tag Team Champions.

Following a back-and-forth contest, it was Arez and AEW’s Komander who walked away with the gold, defeating Rey Horus & Octagon Jr. and Jack Evans & Myzteziz Jr.

The AAA World Tag Team Titles had been vacant since Dragon Lee and Dralistico defeated FTR for the belts in December 2022. The titles were immediately vacated after the match as Dragon Lee announced he had signed with WWE.

Komander has been a standout performer since debuting for All Elite Wrestling in the Face of the Revolution Ladder Match in March 2023. The luchador signed with AEW following his match with Jay White on the April 19 edition of Dynamite.

Outside of AEW, Komander has performed for Tony Khan's second promotion, Ring of Honor, alongside AAA and independent promotions in the United States.
