Alpha Academy Win Raw Tag Team Titles From RK-Bro
New champions crowned on Raw
Chad Gable and Otis of Alpha Academy are the new Raw Tag Team champions, after defeating RK-Bro on Monday's Raw in Philadelphia.
For the finish, Orton attempted an RKO on Gable, only for Gable to shove him into Otis, who dropped Orton with a front powerslam for the pin.
The story of the match centered on Orton's frustrations with Riddle's overzealousness, telling him that if he doesn't know what he's doing in the ring, to just tag him in.
Otis and Gable defeated RK-Bro in a non-title match on last week's Raw, after attacking the champions prior to the start of the match.
For Gable, this is the fourth time he's held Tag Team gold under the WWE banner. He previously reigned as NXT and SmackDown Tag Team champion with American Alpha partner Jason Jordan. He was later Raw Tag Team champions with Robert Roode.
As for Otis, this is his first belt in WWE.
RK-Bro's reign as champions ends at 142 days. Orton and Riddle won the belts from AJ Styles and Omos at SummerSlam on August 21 in Las Vegas.
