Anthony Greene Receives New WWE In-Ring Name

Say hello to August Grey...

Name changes have been extremely popular in WWE over the past couple of months. NXT talents Denzel Dejournette, Tehuti Miles, Brendan Vink, Sidney Bateman, Omari Palmer and Daniel Vidot all received new names recently. Matt Riddle also followed in the footsteps of Andrade, Cesaro and Big E and dropped his first name. He will now just be known as Riddle.

New signing Anthony Greene was the latest WWE Superstar to undergo a name change. The former EVOLVE star wrestled as Anthony Greene on 205 Live only a few weeks ago, but he has since been renamed August Grey.

Grey didn't wait long to make his presence felt on NXT as he attacked Timothy Thatcher during the latest Thatch-As-Thatch-Can session. The British Messiah used much of the segment to bully Akeem Young, forcing the Performance Center trainee to tap out to a variety of submission holds. The new August Grey was waiting for his moment to strike, though, and he appeared from out of nowhere and attacked Thatcher from behind. He then delivered some vicious strikes and a Superkick to Thatcher to end the segment standing tall.

This came after the former Ringkampf member brutalised the then Anthony Greene during the first Thatch-As-Thatch-Can session last week.
