Cody Rhodes-QT Marshall Strap Match Announced For July 7 Dynamite

To kick off AEW's return to the road

A "South Beach Strap Match" between Cody Rhodes and QT Marshall has been signed for the July 7 "Road Rager" edition of AEW Dynamite, the first AEW broadcast to emanate outside of Jacksonville since April of 2020.

Marshall issued the challenge for a strap match during Friday night's Dynamite broadcast. Tony Khan confirmed the match on social media later in the night.

After issuing the challenge, Marshall cheapshotted Arn Anderson with the strap. Anderson was present with his son Brock when Rhodes announced that he and Brock would face Marshall and Aaron Solow on next Friday's Dynamite broadcast.

The match will be Brock Anderson's in-ring debut. He's been training with both Rhodes and Marshall.

Rhodes and Marshall have been feuding since the end of March, after Marshall turned heel during an "exhibition" bout between the two, subsequently forming his Factory group.

On the June 4 episode of Dynamite, Marshall pinned Rhodes in a tag team match involving respective partners Anthony Ogogo and Lee Johnson. Rhodes previously defeated Marshall on the Blood and Guts episode of Dynamite.
