Damian Priest Reveals WWE Nearly Replaced Him At WrestleMania 37

Priest teamed with Bad Bunny on the show

Damian Priest has revealed that WWE were considering replacing him in the tag-team match with Bad Bunny at WrestleMania 37.

The arching storyline involving Bunny, Priest, The Miz and John Morrison began in January at the Royal Rumble 2021, and continued through until the 'Showcase Of The Immortals' when Bunny and Priest teamed up to defeat the former Tag Team Champions.

Having sewed the seeds for the developing angle at the Royal Rumble, Priest has now revealed there was a conversation the next night on Raw - the same night he officially debuted as a fully-time member of the main roster - in which he was told he might not be in the WrestleMania 37 match.

However, Bunny himself and NXT Executive Producer Triple H went to bat for the United States Champion.

Speaking with SuperLuchas.com, the United States Champion said: "The next day on Raw, they told me that maybe they were going to change Bad Bunny’s partner. But one of my bosses, Triple H, said that he absolutely does not. And then Bad Bunny, he told them himself that he wanted to work with me. That was great.

"A lot of people thought we weren’t going to get along because it was a weird combination, me being a rock music fan and him being a trap and reggaetón singer, but it wasn’t like that. I like Bad Bunny."
