Details Around The Miz's Absence From August 30 WWE Raw Reportedly Emerge

The Miz had been advertised to face John Morrison

The Miz was conspicuous by his absence from this week's episode of WWE Monday Night Raw.

The A-Lister had been billed as facing former tag-team partner John Morrison following their split on the August 23 episode of the red brand, when Miz attacked Morrison at the conclusion of his match with Xavier Woods, but the heavily advertised bout between the former Tag Team Champions did not occur.

According to PWInsider, The Miz was actually not present backstage at this week's Monday Night Raw at any time throughout the day, meaning the match could not have happened. There has been no word as to why the former WWE Champion was absent from the show.

With Miz unavailable, Morrison instead faced and was defeated by Omos during the August 30 Raw.

It is unclear how much the Miz's absence contributed to rewrites around this week's Raw show, but it has been reported that the script and running order for the red brand on Monday was torn up and rewritten on multiple occasions at Vince McMahon's behest.
