Details On Microtransactions Within WWE 2K22

Ahead of the game's release in March 2022, 2K revealed further details about WWE 2K22 on Thursday, November 18.

It was revealed yesterday that the popular GM Mode would return in 2022 as MyGM, appearing in a WWE video game for the first time since 2008. 2K22 will also feature several other new game modes, including MyFACTION which "puts players in control of building a legendary faction that rivals the iconic nWo." To do so, players will connect, manage and upgrade WWE Superstars through weekly events and regular updates. 

It was previously revealed that WWE 2K22 would include microtransactions in the form of virtual currency, something that 2K's other titles have been heavily criticised for, especially NBA 2K22.

WWE 2K22 will only include microtransactions in MyFACTION, though, according to Christina Diem Phan, who is the art producer at Visual Concepts. 

"MyFaction is the only mode in WWE 2K22 where purchasable VC comes into play. It's super important to note that VC does not offer any sort of competitive advantage or put players in a pay-to-win situation. The items purchased with VC can also be purchased with MyFaction points earned via gameplay," she told GamesRadar. 

Along with new and returning game modes, WWE 2K22 will feature an improved gaming engine and new controls, among other new features.
