Drew McIntyre Reveals Wife Is Undergoing Emergency Surgery

Drew McIntyre is set for the one the biggest matches of his career tonight at the Clash At The Castle event, taking on Damian Priest for the World Heavyweight Championship in front of his home country at the OVO Hydro in Glasgow, Scotland. However, McIntyre might have something else on his mind, making his matchup all the more of a test. 

At the pre-show press conference last night before Friday Night SmackDown, McIntyre revealed that his wife has had to undergo emergency surgery, meaning that she will not be in attendance for his match at Clash At The Castle. 

“I’ve never, ever been this focused in my life. I didn’t think this was possible. The last Clash was a stab through my heart, my family’s heart, the whole of the UK. I can not let it happen again in Scotland. I’m back home. I couldn’t have dreamt of this moment. I’m going to have my people there, my family there, a redo, a chance to make this right. I wasn’t going to talk about it, but I can’t stop thinking about it. The one person who’s not going to be there is my wife because she’s in surgery right now, emergency surgery. And she told me, ‘I want you to go there and bring that title home.’ And I’m going to bring that title home.”

McIntyre’s time in Scotland has been a busy one, showing up in a surprise appearance at an ICW event last night.
