Exclusive: WWE Still Working With PROGRESS Wrestling

While an All Elite Wrestling talent was in action at PROGRESS Wrestling's Chapter 127 event from the Electric Ballroom in London, England, there has been no change in the indy promotion's working relationship with WWE. 

AEW's Anthony Ogogo made a shock debut at Chapter 127 on Sunday, defeating Hari Singh after six minutes with his Tower Of London finisher.

The Olympic bronze medallist's appearance creates the interesting situation of an AEW talent possibly appearing on the WWE Network when Chapter 127 is uploaded to the streaming service and Peacock in February. WWE could, of course, decide to cut the match from the show, though. 

With Ogogo's appearance, some wondered if this meant there had been a change in PROGRESS Wrestling's working relationship with WWE. Cultaholic Wrestling has confirmed there has been no change in the partnership, though, and the British promotion are still working with WWE. 

PROGRESS and WWE have had a working relationship for the past several years and the indy company previously held qualifying matches for the Cruiserweight Classic, while WWE talent have also performed at PROGRESS shows. Past and current PROGRESS events are also available on the WWE Network and Peacock as part of the partnership. 

Chapter 127 marked PROGRESS' return to live events. The promotion recently announced new ownership with Tranmere Rovers FC directors Lee McAteer and Martyn Best taking over from Jon Briley, who remains with the company to oversee a handover period.
