Former WWE Champion Sheamus Calls Randy Orton "One Of The Greatest Ever," Thinks He Should Do More In Hollywood

Could we see The Viper on the big screen soon...

In the past year, Randy Orton has had somewhat of a career resurgence after a forgettable 2017 and 2018. He faced AJ Styles in a widely praised match at WrestleMania 35 and his feud with Kofi Kingston over the WWE Championship was considered one of the best in WWE in 2019. The Viper has seemingly reached another level yet again in his feud with Edge, however, and is currently being commended by many in the wrestling world for his character work.

Orton's work has also been recognised by his peers, as during a recent interview with Cultaholic Wrestling's Jack King, Sheamus called the former Legend Killer "one of the greatest ever." The Celtic Warrior made particular reference to Orton's recent segment with Beth Phoenix, in which he showed how conflicted he was over Edge but ultimately succumbed to his darker side after he hit The Glamazon with a vicious RKO.

Sheamus also mentioned to Jack that he recently told Randy to pursue a career in acting. Orton has previously appeared in movies, but only in WWE straight to DVD features.

The former World Heavyweight Champion said: "Randy's obviously still there and to me, he's one of the greatest ever. Like if you watch his stuff with Edge over the last couple of weeks, its on a different level. Like the intensity and the character and the pauses, it just draws people in…I actually told Randy the other day, I was like 'Man, after seeing that stuff you did with Beth (Phoenix), I was like mate, you need to be doing more films man, you need to be getting yourself out there,' because he’s on another level."

As of writing, WrestleMania 36 is less than one month away and is available at BT Sport Box Office
