Hiromu Takahashi Appears At NJPW Wrestle Grand Slam In Tokyo Dome, Wants To Face Winner Of El Desperado Vs. Robbie Eagles

The Ticking Time Bomb returned at the Tokyo Dome

Hiromu Takahashi made a surprise appearance at today's Wrestle Grand Slam in Tokyo Dome show.

The Ticking Time Bomb had been on the shelf for six months after suffering a torn pectoral muscle on a Road To Castle Attack show, but he revealed earlier this week that he had been cleared to return to the ring.

Takahashi then opened today's Tokyo Dome show and announced that he wanted to face the winner of El Desperado vs. Robbie Eagles for the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship. Takahashi was champion at the time of his injury but he was forced to relinquish the title, ending his reign after 51 days.

After the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship was vacated, El Desperado defeated El Phantasmo and BUSHI at Castle Attack to win the gold. The Suzuki-gun man has since successfully defended the title on two occasions against YOH and Taiji Ishimori.

Takahashi has history with both El Desperado and Robbie Eagles. The Time Bomb and Despe have had several battles over the years and the two men faced off in a classic Best Of The Super Juniors Final last year. Takahashi also defeated Robbie Eagles earlier in the 2020 tournament in a very good 26-minute match.
