Jeff Hardy Was Ashamed to Be In WWE 24/7 Title Chase

Jeff Hardy is a surefire first ballot hall of famer, with the iconic Hardy Boyz star having won multiple world championships throughout his career.

However, despite his immense popularity and assured main event status, Jeff found himself involved in the 24/7 Title scene during the tail end of his last WWE run much to the chagrin of many WWE fans. This annoyance was felt by Hardy himself, admitting the following to Chris Jericho on Talk is Jericho: 

“I was pretty crushed that day, I was like, ‘Okay, this is it, I don’t know why I am here, they’re really doing this to me,’” Jeff said.“That’s not an arrogant thing to say… I shouldn’t be doing that, but I did it and I was like, ‘Man, what does this mean?’”

Matt Hardy too was involved with the 24/7 scene, and echoed his brother’s thoughts:

“They had me running down the hall before I left, I was running down a hall chasing someone, R-Truth or somebody,” Matt reflected. “It was just one of those things like, ‘Oh god’… For them to put you in that category it’s like, ‘Come on, man.’”
