Joey Janela To Leave AEW

Joey Janela set to leave AEW

The Bad Boy won't be All Elite for much longer.

Ahead of their interview going live, Denise Salcedo of Instinct Culture revealed Joey Janela told her he would not be re-signing with All Elite Wrestling.

"Joey Janela reveals to me that he will NOT be re-signing with AEW and in our interview he explains why," Salcedo tweeted.

Janela previously revealed his AEW contract is due to expire on April 30 but he was unsure about his future with the promotion. The Bad Boy noted at the time that he would remain with the company beyond his contract expiration date and he would "look like a f*cking idiot right now" if he didn't.

The 32-year-old was one of AEW's first signings in 2019 and he was initially featured prominently in the promotion. He has since been relegated to wrestling on Dark and Dark: Elevation, though, and hasn't appeared on TV since May of 2021.

Janela has remained a featured star on the independent wrestling scene, particularly in GCW.
