Marty Scurll Announced For Independent Wrestling Event

Former ROH wrestler and Joint Head Booker Marty Scurll has been announced for an independent wrestling event. 

Puerto Rico's CWA have announced Scurll will return to the promotion on Saturday, October 23 at their 'Halloween Fan Fest' show in San Juan. 

Scurll posted about his booking on Instagram and Matt Cardona, Tessa Blanchard, Pro Wrestling Tees and Nerds Clothing have all commented on the post. 

Nicknamed 'The Villain', Scurll is currently a free agent having parted ways with Ring Of Honor in January 2021. He had been on hiatus from the company since June 2020 after he was accused of sexual assault during the Speaking Out movement. 

A female accused Scurll of sexually assaulting her in January 2015 following an IPW: UK after-show party. At the time of the alleged incident, Scurll was 26-years-old while the female was 16-years-old. 

Scurll addressed the allegations at the time and claimed they had a "brief consensual sexual encounter" but that he "did not become aware of her age until after the encounter." The female disputed that Scurll did not know how old she was. 

Scurll briefly returned to wrestling at the January 22, 2021, NJPW Strong tapings and he was involved in a post-match angle with Rocky Romero. The segment never aired, though, following criticism from fans. NJPW talent were also reportedly unhappy about Scurll's involvement at the tapings.
