Nick Khan Comments On Future WWE Fan-Attended Events

"Just know that once we’re back on the road, we’re on the road full time."

WWE President and Chief Revenue Officer Nick Khan has held the work that went in to welcoming fans back for WrestleMania 37.

With a capped attendance, 25,675 fans sold out both Night One and Night Two of WrestleMania 37 at the weekend. Attendees were seated in socially distanced pods with mobile ticketing, cashless concessions, and enhanced sanitization in place throughout Raymond James Stadium.

Khan says, with WrestleMania 37 being the first time in 13 months WWE could welcome back a live audience, the company was determined to do so in the safest but biggest way possible.

Speaking to Variety, he said: "If it could be done in a safe way, we had to get it done. And I think ultimately, thanks to the great work of all the folks here, we were able to get it done. If you recall, WrestleMania last year was two to three weeks into the pandemic. We had to cancel last minute and we did it from a studio. It was certainly a different experience.

"So we wanted to make sure that the fans and the people watching at home got the WWE experience that they’re used to on the biggest event that we have."

WWE is yet to announce any further plans for fans returning to their events, with the promotion committed to using the current ThunderDome - a closed set - until August.

Khan says that WWE will be returning live crowds for their events once it is possible to resume their usual touring scheduling, with news expected soon.

He added: "Any plans? Yes. Any plans we can share? Stay tuned. But just know that once we’re back on the road, we’re on the road full time. We’re not looking to do other one offs. Again, this was WrestleMania. And we felt it needed to be done for the fans. So look for news coming soon."
