Did Hiromu make it into the second round...

Last week, New Japan Pro-Wrestling announced they would be returning on June 15 with the Together Project Special. The special event would then be followed by the New Japan Cup 2020 from June 16 to July 11. The winner will go on to face IWGP Heavyweight and Intercontinental Champion Tetsuya Naito at Dominion on July 12.

The first four matches of the cup took place earlier today as Yota Tsuji faced off against Togi Makabe, Tomohiro Ishii went one on one with El Desperado, Hiromu Takahashi clashed with Tomoaki Honma, and Toru Yano took on Jado.

2020 marks the first time junior heavyweights can compete in the tournament and Takahashi made Daryl very happy as he defeated Honma after connecting with the Time Bomb. He will now face Toru Yano in the second round on June 24.
