November 29 WWE Raw Sees Unique Viewership Trend As Ratings Slightly Decline

The November 29 episode of WWE Raw saw a slight dip in viewership with a unique trend reportedly becoming apparent.

According to Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer, this week's Monday Night Raw drew an average of 1.68 million viewers, while also registering a 0.45 in the key 18-49 demographic. This was a small decrease of one per cent in the overall audience figure and down eight per cent in the 18-49 category. 

However, Meltzer notes that the viewing pattern for this week's Raw followed an unusual, hardly seen trend.

While the first hour of Raw averaged at 1.68 million viewers, the second hour saw a notable gain in audience numbers. While hour three saw a fall from the heights of the second hour, the numbers were still higher than Raw's opening hour. 

Usually, WWE Raw sees the highest numbers registered in the first hour, with viewership figures then falling away as the show progresses. 

The driving force of the strong second hour of Raw was likely driven by the return of Edge, as well as Vince McMahon once again being on the show. McMahon had not been advertised for Raw, and it is possible people switched over as they heard about him being on the show as time went on.
