PWG Returning On August 1

The cult California indie hasn’t ran a show since 2019

After rumblings of a return last week, cult independent promotion Pro Wrestling Guerilla has announced it will return to action on August 1.

PWG announced the return, by simply Tweeting “Kept you waiting, huh? PWG returns on Sunday, August 1st!”

No details have emerged about the planned show, but assumptions can be made it will take place at The Globe Theatre, Los Angeles, California - PWG’s home after outgrowing the American Legion Hall in Resida, CA. The Globe hosted the last PWG show The Makings of a Varsity Athlete in December 2019.

Murmurs about PWG’s return started in the last few weeks, with The Wrestling Observer’s Dave Meltzer stating last week that:

“For those who have asked about the return of PWG, there is no confirmed date but they are working on it. Right now, their home base, the Globe Theater in Los Angeles, is now open for business and isn’t opening imminently, so until they do open with full or near full capacity allowed, PWG won’t start back.”

What PWG has planned for August 1 is still anyone's guess, but rest assured it’s likely to be a riotous evening of pro wrestling.
