Report: Adam Cole & Kyle O'Reilly Not Cleared To Compete Despite Upcoming AEW Returns

No Adam Cole and Kyle O'Reilly in the ring just yet

Wednesday's episode of AEW Dynamite will feature multiple big returns and Adam Cole, Kyle O'Reilly, Matt Jackson, and Bobby Fish will be back on TV this week as the Undisputed Elite continues to get closer to full strength.

Don't expect all members of the faction to immediately start wrestling again, though, and Bryan Alvarez reported on Wrestling Observer Live that Adam Cole and Kyle O'Reilly will not be ready for in-ring action for a "little while."

"We've also got Adam Cole and Kyle O'Reilly, both still out of action. Even though they announced they were going to return on the show Wednesday, they're returning in a television role and neither of them have been cleared. They're really making sure Adam Cole is 100% before he comes back because he was injured in the Joe match and then he came back and was immediately injured again. He already had a torn labrum and they don't want him coming back and immediately getting injured again so he's gonna be out, still, for a while. I was told he is getting better and Kyle O'Reilly is also going to be out for a little while," Alvarez said.

Adam Cole has been on the shelf since he suffered a concussion at the Forbidden Door pay-per-view on June 26. He was already dealing with a torn labrum prior to that show but he will be undergoing surgery.

Kyle O'Reilly, meanwhile, has been off AEW TV since he suffered a baseball bat shot from Sting on the June 17 episode of Rampage and KOR noted afterwards that he has been dealing with a "pretty bad" issue for the past five years.
