Report: Backstage Chatter That Sami Zayn Has Re-Signed With WWE

Is Zayn sticking around?

Kevin Owens' best friend could be staying with him in WWE.

Owens confirmed on Thursday that he had re-signed with WWE on a multi-year deal, reportedly for three years for $2-3 million per year.

KO has been closely connected to best friend Sami Zayn throughout his career and The Great Liberator may have also re-signed with WWE.

According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, there has been locker room chatter within WWE that Zayn has put pen to paper on a new deal with the company, however WWE sources did not confirm that Zayn has re-signed.

Zayn's WWE deal is reportedly set to expire in spring 2022, sometime around March or early April. Zayn re-signed with WWE on a three-year deal back in May or June 2018 but WWE added nine months to his contract after the former Intercontinental Champion underwent shoulder surgery.

Zayn was also away from WWE TV for six months following the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic but that time was not added back on to his contract as WWE allowed talent to remain at home without punishment.
