Report: Former WWE Talent Backstage At SmackDown

Could appear on tonight's broadcast

A former WWE performer is said to be backstage at today's SmackDown tapings, and is reportedly in line to appear on tonight's broadcast.

According to a report from PWInsider, Tenille Dashwood (the former Emma) is at today's SmackDown tapings in St. Louis. The report claims that Dashwood is expected to answer the open challenge of SmackDown Women's champion Ronda Rousey.

A subsequent report from Fightful Select has corroborated PWInsider's story.

Dashwood began wrestling as Emma in WWE developmental back in 2012. In early 2014, Emma began appearing on WWE's main roster programming, and she was part of the multi-woman Divas title match at WrestleMania 30 that year.

Emma remained with WWE until being released in the autumn of 2017. From there, she reverted to her real name and joined ROH in early 2018. She stayed with the company for a little over one year before going on to sign with Impact. There, Dashwood reigned as one half of the Knockouts Tag Team champions alongside Madison Rayne, before leaving this past summer.

Tonight's episode of SmackDown will be broadcast on cable channel FOX Sports 1, due to the World Series airing on the main FOX channel.
