Kevin Owens WWE Contract Update

The clock is ticking on Kevin Owens' current WWE deal...

A new report has shed light on the current contract situation of WWE star Kevin Owens.

Per Fightful Select, WWE sources indicated that Owens has been approached regarding a new deal. Fightful added that a contract has not been signed as of yet, but communication has been made ahead of the former Universal Champion's current deal expiring at the end of the year.

A recent report noted that WWE are being 'very aggressive' when it comes to tying top stars down to new deals, with Rhea Ripley, Liv Morgan and Nia Jax approached about putting pen to paper, and WWE veteran Sheamus recently inking a new deal (the length of which is unknown).

Should Owens reject WWE's offer, there is definite interest in his services elsewhere.

According to Fightful's report, those they spoke to in AEW indicated that they have long had an interest in bringing the 40-year-old in, when and if he becomes available. AEW are expected to make Owens an offer, should he reach free agency, with Owens' indie scene pals The Young Bucks surely vouching for 'The Prizefighter'.

If Owens does decide to stick with WWE, perhaps he can work on building a relationship with CM Punk. Owens recently spoke about how the two never talk and are not friends.
