Report: Kenny Dykstra Suffers Torn Calf At WWE Royal Rumble

Kenny Dykstra suffers injury at WWE Royal Rumble

Edge and The Judgment Day’s brawl during the 2023 Men’s Royal Rumble match was certainly heated, but it seems there was collateral damage as WWE producer Ken Doane suffered an injury during the fracas.

Doane - formerly known as Kenny Dykstra - reportedly tore his calf whilst splitting up the fight on the entrance ramp, with Dave Meltzer breaking the news in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.

Under the Kenny Dykstra name, Doane is best known for his WWE run from 2006 to 2008, where he was the focal point of the Spirit Squad. A one-time WWE World Tag Team Champion during his time with the Squad, Doane would go on to later have a quick return run in 2016 against former Spirit Squad team-mate Dolph Ziggler, and would work for the likes of Dragon Gate USA, EVOLVE, MLW, and Ring of Honor before retiring from in-ring competition in 2021.

Doane was re-hired by WWE shortly after his retirement, reporting to the WWE Performance Center in October 2021, before quickly being ushered into a producer’s role across RAW and SmackDown.
