Report: Major Match Under Discussion For WWE WrestleMania 40

Two popular talents could be featured in a headline match at WrestleMania 40.

The 2024 edition of the Show of Shows will emanate from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on April 6 and April 7 and according to WRKD Wrestling, Cody Rhodes vs. GUNTHER has been discussed within WWE as Raw's main event for WrestleMania XL. 

"While it's still early, discussions have taken place for #WWERaw's main event for WrestleMania 40 to potentially be Cody Rhodes vs. Gunther. Both superstars have expressed interest in working with each other in the past and are seen as the top face and heel on the Raw roster," WRKD Wrestling tweeted.

Both GUNTHER and Cody Rhodes have expressed interest in facing each other over the past several months but their only interaction inside the squared circle so far was during the 2023 Royal Rumble match. 

Another match reportedly "on the table" for WrestleMania 40 is Roman Reigns vs. Cody Rhodes in a rematch from WrestleMania 39. WWE ultimately have plenty of time to decide on what they want Cody Rhodes to do at WrestleMania, however.
