Report: More Details On AEW Signing Sting

The Icon is here...

AEW shocked the professional wrestling world during the "Winter Is Coming" edition of Dynamite as Sting appeared on TNT for the first time since WCW closed its doors.

The Franchise chased off Team Taz to make the save for Darby Allin, Cody Rhodes and Dustin Rhodes and stared down all three men and Arn Anderson to close out the segment. Tony Schiavone then revealed Stinger has signed a multi-year deal with the company.

Dave Meltzer reported on Wrestling Observer Radio that Sting is going to be a regular on TV going forward and he will do some "physical stuff." If this means The Icon will wrestle in AEW remains to be seen, though.

The promotion also reportedly wanted to use Sting on TV because they liked the idea of having a big star from the previous generation of wrestling on TNT as a regular on Dynamite.

Meltzer said: "He is going to be a regular on the television. It's not like WWE where he'd show up once every year or whatever, he is going to be on this thing. They wanted the idea of the big star from the old generation of TNT being back as a regular… There will be physical stuff but I don't think he'll be taking bumps or anything like that. But he's in. He's going to be a character in some form."
