Report: Original Plans For WWE Raw Women's Title Match At Clash Of Champions 2020 Revealed

The pay-per-view is two weeks away...

Since she reclaimed the Raw Women's Championship at SummerSlam, Asuka has been locked in a programme with Mickie James and Natalya. The storyline began after Mickie confronted The Empress Of Tomorrow on the August 31 episode of Raw and staked her claim for a title shot. They were then interrupted by Natalya and Lana which led to Asuka declaring she was ready to face all three women.

James and the Raw Women's Champion teamed together against the heels on this week's edition of Raw and the two babyfaces will now go one on one for the title on September 14.

If the storyline will continue until Clash Of Champions remains to be seen but Dave Meltzer reported in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that WWE originally planned to have Asuka defend the title at the pay-per-view against Shayna Baszler. Meltzer noted the company may still book the match for September 27, but The Queen Of Spades is seemingly destined to remain in the tag team division for some time after she and Nia Jax captured the Women's Tag Team Championship at Payback.
