Report: Pete Dunne's WWE Contract Expiring

Another NXT star is reportedly on an expiring deal

The contract of former NXT UK champion Pete Dunne is reportedly expiring in the very near future, according to a report from Fightful Select.

The report cites one source claiming that Dunne's contract is up "after SummerSlam weekend", though Fightful has not clarified a precise date with Dunne or WWE as of yet.

According to the report, the situation with Dunne is apparently "similar to that of Adam Cole's", but it's not clear exactly what that pertains to. Cole's WWE deal reportedly expired last month, leading to a short-term extension with WWE for the time being.

Dunne last wrestled on the July 27 episode of NXT (taped July 21). There, he teamed with Oney Lorcan in a victory over Timothy Thatcher and Tommaso Ciampa.

The 27-year-old Dunne is a former NXT UK champion of nearly two years, and also held NXT's Tag Team titles with Riddle. In 2021, Dunne twice challenged for the NXT championship, losing to Finn Balor at TakeOver: Vengeance Day, and failing to win a five way match at TakeOver: In Your House.
