Report: Rumour Killer On Vince McMahon Running WWE From The Shadows

Vince McMahon is no longer involved with WWE

Vince McMahon is not a Darth Sidious-like figure secretly controlling WWE from the shadows.

There have been several suggestions from fans and some ex-WWE talents since McMahon's retirement on July 22 that the 76-year-old remains unofficially in charge of WWE with Stephanie McMahon, Nick Khan, and Triple H serving as Vince's puppets.

Several higher-ups reiterated that is not the case to Fightful Select during SummerSlam week and McMahon no longer has any say in the day-to-day operations of WWE or creative. Others within the company referred to no longer having to wait in situations that would usually require McMahon's approval since his retirement on July 22.

A higher-up within WWE also pointed to recent episodes of WWE TV as evidence of McMahon's lack of involvement, notably that Dakota Kai would not have been re-signed and the Raw after SummerSlam would have featured several rematches from the pay-per-view.

PWInsider reiterated that McMahon is not involved with WWE in any official capacity beyond being the organisation's majority shareholder.

McMahon may still have limited access to WWE facilities, namely the gym at Titan Towers, but if that is the case has not been confirmed. If McMahon does have access, he has not visited since his retirement.

McMahon retired on July 22 amidst sexual misconduct and hush money allegations and his departure was reportedly hastened after federal prosecutors and the SEC began to investigate the payments totalling over $14.6 million.
